Alton have been manufacturing greenhouses since 1921; the iconic sloping sided models which many greenhouse gardeners are familiar with was in production for around 60 years. More recently Alton have redesigned the greenhouses to produce a range which is even more durable combining the appeal of wood with the benefits of aluminium technology in key areas. All have 3mm toughened safety glass.
Manufactured here in the UK from Western Red Cedar the Evolution range maintains Alton’s place in the market as a first choice in wood for amateur and keen growers alike. The Victorian range integrates the redesigned elements with Victorian styled aesthetics including hinged door, steeper roof pitch and internal cast spandrels.

Why choose Alton?
Constructed from Western Red Cedar, the natural preservative oils residing in the wood protect the structure from rot and insect attack. The greenhouses have a 10 year guarantee, and are factory treated in a clear preservative so as not to mask the beautiful colour, which over time will mature to a silvery grey.
All fixings are stainless steel; glazing is toughened glass throughout. The cedar bar capping can be upgraded to powder coated aluminium capping which includes a rubber gasket- this option will include an aluminium ridge cover.
